Conceptual design for airport terminal in Szymany

The designed object is located at the runway of the old military airport, where the open area is surrounded by a thick Masurian forest.

The general plan for the new airport assumes the construction of a terminal and a high-speed train station connected to it. The main design assumption was minimal interference in the stagnant landscape and the creation of a region’s card with the help of modern architecture. The designed building gently merges with the ground and almost grows out of the green surroundings. In turn, its dynamism and the longitudinal character of the minimalist body can be associated with aviation and sky travels.
